Sesame-Walnut-Pumpkin Seed Crackers

Ingredients:

  • ‘Hēi Zhī Má’ Sesamum indicum (Black sesame seed) – Tonify Yin
  • ‘Hé Táo Rén’ Juglans regia (Walnut) – Tonify Yang
  • ‘Nán Guā Zǐ’  Cucurbita moschata (Pumpkin seed) – Expels Parasites
  • ‘Cōng Bái’ Allium fistulosum (Scallion/green onion) – Release Exterior
  • ‘Hú Jiāo’ Piper nigrum (Black Pepper) –  Warm Interior

 

Directions:

  1. In a food processor combine the following:
  • 1 cup each of walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds without shells, flax seeds
  • Add 2 cups of black sesame seeds
  • 4 scallions chopped finely
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • Fresh pepper
  • Break up about 10 pieces of Hé Shǒu Wū
  • Grate on a hard cheese grater a rootlet of Xī Yáng Shēn

2. Mix until even textured by adding 1/3 cup olive oil, 3 TBS of wheat-free tamari and 1/4-3/4 cup homemade broth (veggie or meat based).

3. Spread thinly onto parchment or food dehydrator sheets

4. Bake or Dehydrate

Dehydrate( for raw crackers 110 degrees) 12 hours then flip over and dry for another 3 hours to desired crispiness in a food dehydrator

OR:

Bake on parchment covered cookie sheets in a toaster or oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes then check crispiness (flip if needed) and adjust time.
