Scar Therapy with Acupuncture

I’m thankful for the chance to work with students today on scar therapy.  Treated a few scars with acupuncture as part of our study of trauma.  It was nice to go beyond herbs and work directly with the body.

Here’s a link to an interview about Kiiko style scar therapy.

Some pain issues in the body can be linked to scars that have not healed well.  This article in Acupuncture Today, talks about several pain case studies based on scar therapy work blended with the cause-and-effect premise that, “What affects the top affects the bottom and what affects the right side affects the left side and vice versa.”

  1. We talked about this briefly in class several weeks ago and I didn’t have a chance to ask more questions. I’m so interested in scars; physical and emotional and really glad I found the post, articles, and additional resources on Kiiko acupuncture. Thanks for sharing this type of information as well as herbs.

  2. This is so interesting! I had no idea this existed; I’d definitely like to learn more.

  3. This is kind of interesting when you consider the dangers of scar tissue invading internal organ spaces in the abdomen. Quite common over time for many people.
