I love pesto.  I love the quality of what 5 ingredients when minced and mashed together can give. I really like topping this on salmon, or even adding some garbanzo beans to kick it hummus-style.

Both pumpkin seeds and garlic have anti-parasitic effects, garlic being one of the most user-friendly.  Garlic also boosts the immune system.  When used regularly, over a long period of time, pumpkin seeds are helpful in preventing prostate disorders.

Thanks Ashley for helping with this tasty recipe!

  1. Lana, I love pesto too, but usually avoid it due to the horrific calorie count. This recipe makes a lot of sense in that the oil from the seeds replaces all the olive oil in normal pesto. That way we get our fats in a whole foods form. Great idea! Jodi

  2. Yum! This sounds like one I’ll have to make for my book club. They love tasty but healthy food.
