Gluten-Free Flax & Hemp Seed Health Bars ( 亞麻仁 , 火麻仁)

These delicious health bars are gluten-free and are protein rich with various seeds and nuts.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups lightly salted roasted pecansgluten free flax-and-hemp-bars
  • 1 Cup crispy rice cereal (gluten-free)
  • 1 Cup old-fashioned oats (gluten-free)
  • 2/3 Cup roasted unsalted sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 Cup raisins
  • 1/2 Cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 Cup dry roasted Flax Seeds ‘Ya Ma Ren’ 亞麻仁
  • ¼ cup hemp seeds ‘Huo Ma Ren’ 火麻仁
  • 1/4 Cup vegan & gluten free chocolate chips
  • 2/3 Cup brown rice syrup

 

 Directions:

Soak pecans in water overnight. Strain pecans and lightly salt and roast in an oven or iron skillet. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Then, stir in brown rice syrup 1/3 cup at a time until all the dry ingredients are coated and there is an even consistency.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Line bottom of 9×12 glass baking dish with parchment paper.  Mix together all dry ingredients. Then stir in brown rice syrup 1/3 of a cup at a time until combined.

Press the mix evenly into the baking dish. Lay another sheet of parchment paper on top of the mix and press flat using another baking pan or flat object. Remove second piece of parchment paper and place baking dish in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until outer edges start turning golden brown.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, until just turning golden at the outer edges.

  3. I have never tried to make breakfast/granola bars before, and didn’t realize how simple they can be to prepare. I will definitely try making these at home! I would assume you could make substitutions with different dried fruit, too.
